At the international Geneva exhibition of the automotive industry, which started in March 2016, Citroen held an official demonstration of the new family monocab called "SpaceTourer" - the fruit of cooperation between the French concern PSA Peugeot Citroen and the Japanese company Toyota.

The car, built on the modular "cart" EMP2, reached the countries of the Old World a few months after its debut, and at the beginning of summer 2017 entered the Russian market.

The exterior of the Citroen SpaceTourer is designed in the “family” style of the French brand, which gives the full-size van a modern, stylish and attractive, but not at all bulky look.

From the "face" the car flaunts the energetic look of the headlights, connected by a wide "double chevron", and a massive bumper with vertical LED "garlands" of running lights, and from the rear it has monumental contours with a huge trunk lid and neat lanterns.

And in profile, the monocab is good-looking - balanced proportions, expressive sidewalls, pronounced "relief" of the wheel arches and a large glass area.

The SpaceTurer has three length options and two types of wheelbases: the length of the minivan is 4606, 4956 or 5306 mm (in the first case, 2925 mm fits between the axles, in the remaining two - 3275 mm), and its width and height reach 1920 mm and 1905 mm, respectively. The ground clearance "for a minivan" is quite large here - 175 mm.

When equipped, the car weighs from 1587 to 1730 kg (depending on the version).

The interior of Citroen SpaceTourer looks fresh, beautiful and ergonomic - a "sports" multi-steering wheel with a "filed" rim in the lower part and a three-spoke design, a stylish and laconic "instrument panel" with an on-board computer display and a solid front panel, in the center of which are "spelled out" 7-inch display of the multimedia center and a fashionable climate control panel.

Inside the car, exceptionally solid finishing materials prevail, and the quality of the fit of the elements is at a high level.

The salon of a French minivan, depending on the modification, accommodates from 5 to 9 people (including the driver). In the front part, two or three seats can be installed, behind which there are one or two three-seater sofas - each of them moves on a "slide" and is divided into three equal sections, which are individually adjusted to the angle of inclination of the back.

Among other things, other options for organizing "apartments" are available for the car, among which is the "VIP version" - with a second row of seats located against the direction of travel and a sliding table.

The luggage compartment of the Citroen SpaceTourer (depending on the solution) is designed to carry from 550 to 4200 liters of luggage (the two rear rows can be folded or completely removed from the passenger compartment), while the maximum carrying capacity of a full-size minivan is 1400 kg.

Specifications. The SpaceTurer is exclusively equipped with four-cylinder BlueHDi diesel engines (with no alternative front-wheel drive) with an in-line arrangement, Common Rail fuel injection, turbocharging and a Start / Stop system, which meet the environmental requirements of Euro-6:

  • The first option is a 1.6 liter (1560 cubic centimeters) engine supplied in two levels of "pumping": 95 horsepower at 3750 rpm and 210 Nm of generated torque at 1750 rpm or 116 "stallions" and 300 Nm of possible thrust at similar speeds. In the "junior" version, it interacts with a 5-speed "mechanics" or 6-band "robot", and in the "senior" - only with a "manual" transmission for six gears. From standstill to 100 km / h "1.6-liter" minivan accelerates in 13.4-15.9 seconds, its "maximum speed" rests on 145-160 km / h, and "eating" fuel does not go beyond 5.2-5.6 liters for each mixed " a hundred ".
  • The second is a 2.0-liter (1997 cubic centimeters) unit, which is also available in several versions: 150 "mares" at 4000 rpm and 370 Nm of available potential at 2000 rpm or 177 "horses" at 3750 rpm and 400 Nm of ultimate thrust at 2000 rpm. A less powerful engine is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a more efficient one only with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The "ceiling" of the possibilities of such a car falls on 170 km / h, and it takes 11 seconds to "throw" up to the first "hundred". Under combined conditions, the "Frenchman" digests from 5.3 to 5.7 liters of "diesel fuel" per 100 km of run.

At the heart of the Citroen SpaceTourer, as already noted, extends the modular "bogie" EMP2 (with a transversely oriented power plant in the front part), which implies the widespread use of high-strength steels, as well as aluminum alloys and composites. Independent suspensions are installed on both axles of the minivan: at the front - McPherson type with a transverse stabilizer, and at the rear - with A-shaped levers.

As standard, this car is equipped with a rack-and-pinion steering complex, which is supplemented by an electro-hydraulic power steering. The "Frenchman" is stopped by disc brakes on all wheels (on the front - with ventilation), which work together with modern electronics (ABS, BA, EBD).

Options and prices. In the Russian market, Citroen SpaceTourer is sold only with a 150-horsepower HDi diesel engine, combined with both "mechanics" and "automatic", in two performance levels - "Feel" and "Business Lounge" (the latter option is exclusively with an extended body) ...

  • For the starting equipment in 2018, dealers want a minimum of 2,069,000 rubles, and for automatic transmissions they will have to pay another 130,000 rubles. Its equipment includes: four airbags, cruise control, heated front seats, air conditioning with individual air conditioning for the rear of the cabin, ABS, ESP, ERA-GLONASS function, audio system with 8 speakers, sliding doors on both sides, assistant when starting uphill and some other options.
  • "Top modification" is offered at a price of 2,799,000 rubles, and its features include: separate seats in the second row, electric sliding doors, leather trim, improved noise insulation, multimedia complex, xenon headlights, rear view camera, engine start with buttons and the darkness of other "gadgets".
