At the International Geneva Motor Show in March 2014, on behalf of Mercedes-Benz, a luxurious V-class minivan of the third generation was put on display to the public, replacing the niche R-Class and Viano in the line, however, the car was officially declassified a few months before the premiere - at the end of January of the same year.

The "third" Mercedes-Benz V-Class is tailored in the corporate style of the German company, thanks to which it looks expressive and attractive, standing out against the background of many other nondescript minivans.

The most impressively designed "face" of the car: embossed hood, passenger bumper in size and plastic, as well as complex headlights with LED strips (can be fully LED). The high silhouette of the car is decorated with voluminous sidewalls, strewn with deep stampings, and the monumental stern demonstrates compact lights with LED "stuffing" and a huge tailgate.

The German minivan is available in three wheelbases: short, long and extra long. The length of the most compact version is 4895 mm, of which 3200 mm is set aside for the distance between the axles, and the intermediate one is 5140 mm with a similar wheelbase. In the "elongated" version, these characteristics are respectively equal to 5370 mm and 1880 mm. The height and width are unchanged in all cases - 1880 mm and 1928 mm.

The interior of the third generation Mercedes-Benz V-class looks stylish and expensive. The architecture of the front panel is something in between the C- and S-class: round ventilation deflectors, an information cluster with a colored "display" in the center, a multifunctional steering wheel with a small diameter and an ergonomic center console with a "tablet" of the multimedia center and modern control units "Music" and "microclimate". Finishing materials were used really "Mercedes": high-quality plastics, genuine leather and real wood.

By default, the interior of the minivan is six-seater: in front there are two comfortable seats with a good profile, but not sufficiently developed support on the sides, and in the back there are four separate seats that move back and forth and unfold against the direction of travel. In addition, versions are available with seven, eight and even ten seats (in an extended body).

The luggage compartment volume of the "third" Mercedes-Benz V-class varies from 1030 to 4630 liters. Conveniences include a low loading height, an electric drive for the fifth door and a separately rising glass. The full-size spare wheel is suspended “outdoors” under the underbody.

Specifications. In the Russian market, the premium minivan "W447" is offered with three diesel units with a volume of 2.1 liters of varying degrees of boost, which are structurally similar and are equipped with a turbine with a variable impeller geometry.
There are two gearboxes - a 6-speed "mechanics" and a 7-band "robot" with two clutches (the latter is available only on the most powerful version), each of them by default brings torque to the rear wheels. For the most efficient modification, the 4Matic permanent all-wheel drive is available, distributing the torque between the axles in a 45:55 ratio.

  • Basic version of Mercedes-Benz V200 CDI is equipped with a 136-horsepower engine generating 330 Nm of torque at 1200-2400 rpm. It is capable of accelerating a heavy minivan from 0 to 100 km / h in 13.8 seconds and a maximum acceleration of 183 km / h, consuming an average of 6.1 liters of diesel fuel in combined mode.
  • Under the hood of a slightly more powerful version V220 CDI a motor is installed, the output of which is 163 "horses" at 3800 rpm and 330 Nm of torque at 1400-2400 rpm. Passport characteristics are as follows: 11.8 seconds from standstill to 100 km / h, 194 km / h peak speed, fuel consumption at the level of 5.7 liters.
  • "Top" V250 BlueTEC equipped with a 190-horsepower diesel engine with a torque of 440 Nm at 1400-2400 rpm, the potential of which in the overboost mode can increase by 14 "mares" and 40 Nm. The "maximum" of such a minivan is 206 km / h, and it takes 9.1 seconds to conquer the first 100 km / h. At the same time, the economy is at a height of 6 liters in the combined cycle.

The basis of the "third" V-class from Mercedes is the modernized platform of its predecessor (Viano) with McPherson struts on the front axle and oblique levers on the rear. The steering system is supplemented by an electromechanical amplifier, ventilated disc brakes are installed on the front wheels, and disc brakes at the rear.
