"The cheapest car in the world" - this is the title (at the time of its appearance) received the model Qute of the Indian manufacturer Bajaj Auto, serial production of which started in September 2015. Although the premiere of the compact car called RE60 took place back in January 2012 - at the Delhi Auto Show.

In the fall of 2016, this "state employee" made it to the Russian market and became the most affordable car (formally a quadricycle) in our country.

Talking about the design of the appearance in the case of Bajaj Qute is meaningless: a tall body with two-volume outlines, small wheels spaced apart in the corners, and the simplest headlights and taillights.

In his homeland, this "Indian" according to documents is classified as a quadraOcycle - which ensures lower requirements and a very low price. But in Russia the squareOcycles access to public roads is prohibited, so we have this car certified as a quadrandcycle - i.e. for management, the rights of category "B" are required, as well it was necessary to "complicate" the design (to correspond to this "format"), which entailed some increase in cost (in comparison with the "Indian version").

The overall dimensions of the Bajaj Qute make you smile: 2752 mm in length, 1312 mm in width and 1650 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1925 mm. Thanks to this compactness, the turning radius of the small car is only 3.5 meters. The clearance of the "kid" is quite suitable for Russian operating conditions - 180 mm.

The interior of the Indian compact (if, of course, it can be called such) is ascetic in everything - a simple steering wheel with two "spokes", a minimum amount of trim and a lot of exposed metal.

On the front panel, there was only a small speedometer with a set of warning lamps, a key block, a gear lever and two lockable glove compartments.

There can be no question of any comfort inside the Bajaj Qute: the decoration of the car is organized according to the "2 + 2" scheme, but primitive "chairs" with rigid filling are installed both in front and in the back (the rear sofa can be folded).

The "Indian" has two luggage compartments: one is, as usual, behind - but its volume is only 44 liters; and the second "under the hood" - its useful volume is 60 liters.

The Qute Baby is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DTS-I petrol engine with 0.2 liter (217 cc) fuel injection, producing 13.5 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 19.6 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

A 5-speed sequential gearbox works in conjunction with a Euro-3 engine located above the rear axle.

The maximum Indian car weighing 399 kg is capable of gaining 70 km / h, on average "eating" only 2.7 liters of fuel for every 100 km of run (but the capacity of the fuel tank is just as good as 8 liters).

The small car body is a steel monocoque, part of the "plumage" of which is made of high-strength plastic.

The Bajaj Qute uses a hydraulic brake system with 180mm drum-type devices on both the front and rear.

The "Indian" is leaning on the road with 12-inch wheels, dressed in tires measuring 135/70 R12.

Bajaj Qute entered the Russian market in October 2016, in 2018 it is offered at a price of 330,000 - which automatically makes it the "cheapest car" in our country.

The city car is offered in six colors, and the list of its standard equipment includes: driver and passenger seat belts, analog speedometer, USB / MP3 audio system (2 speakers), full-size "spare" and alloy wheels.
In addition, as options, available: interior heater and roof rack.
